PAT refuse to take official security for Dr Tahir ul Qadri

Lahore: Final arrangements were being made by Pakistan Awami Tehreek to receive the Chairman of PAT Dr. Tahirul Qadri when he arrives on Monday from London.

A meeting was held in this regard at the PAT secretariat chaired by its president Dr. Raheeq Ahmed Abbasi. He said being a responsible political party we have written to the DCO intimating him about the arrival of PAT Chief. He said we have not sought any security from the DCO but have informed him of our plan to receive Dr. Tahirul Qadri at the airport.

He said the PAT chief has more threat from the ‘Zalims’ of the Punjab government and less threats from the Taliban. He said the main accused in the Model Town tragedy Rana Sana Ullah is a minister against and we expect no good from him and neither do we expect any good from the DCO.

He said that Dr. Tahir ul Qadri will arrive at the Lahore airport at 7am on the 29^th of June (Monday) and will be given a massive welcome by the PAT leaders and workers. Dr. Tahir ul Qadri had gone abroad for the treatment of Micro Vascular Angina. He said the treatment continues but the PAT chief is feeling much better after six months of treatment.

Dr. Raheeq Abbasi said that the diehard workers of PAT cannot wait to greet their leader and are getting impatient. He said that PAT has never taken the law in its hands and the government functionaries must remain within the limits of law and not incite or try to create any sort of disturbance when the PAT workers assemble to welcome their leader. He said we have told the DCO about the route we will take while bringing the PAT chief to his home and the government officials should concentrate on the security along the route.

Speaking to the participants of the meeting secretary general of Pat Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that the government is already baffled when it heard that Dr. Tahirul Qadri is coming back. He said they know they have the blood of 14 PAT workers on their hands and Rana Sana has a threatening posture as he fears his end is nearing. He said every Pakistani has the right to a peaceful protest and permission is not needed for it. He said it is time that Rana Sana makes amends in his life and should repent what he has done in the past. He should stop using the police for his personal interests. He said come what may, the rulers will have to explain and suffer the consequences for killing 14 PAT workers in the Model Town tragedy.

Khurram Nawaz said that a special session of the Central Executive Council of PAT will be held on Sunday to review the final arrangements for the arrival of Dr. Tahirul Qadri.
