NP launches campaign for LG elections in Islamabad

NP Pic 001Lahore: National Party (NP) has fielded candidates from marginalized segments of the society in different Union Councils of Islamabad which is in line with the party’s policy of supporting the subjugated.

This was stated by Ayub Malik president National Party Punjab during a corner meeting held at Frances Colony UC 34 of Islamabad today. He said that NP is a secular party which is striving hard to eliminate the hate mongering in society and obtain rights of the deprived segments so that the relationship between state and society which is badly missing is revived.

Speaking at the occasion, Mian Aftab Ahmed, Vice President of NP Punjab said that party has nominating a poor Christian woman Jamila Mushtaq as the Chairman of the UC 34 which is a testimony to the fact that NP is the only party which is fighting for the rights of the poor and minorities.

Prominent human rights activist and the Secretary Human Rights Affairs of NP Punjab Rehana Hashmi said that primary motive of the party is to strengthen the social contract between state and citizens without exploitation that takes care of its poor and vulnerable citizens and subjugated nationalities.

The party will ensure full participation of women, minorities and marginalized segment of the society in national life. She further added that the main agenda of the party is to promote welfare of the working people by providing free and compulsory secondary education with relevant access to health and other services.

NP Islamabad’s General Secretary Abdullah Dayo informed that party has fielded the candidates representing lower middle class and those representing labourers, peasants, women and minorities.

The meeting was attended by the large number of inhabitants of Frances Colony including Christians, Muslims and Hindus including Ashok Chand Vice President NP Islamabad and Raja Jameel Organizer NP Rawalpindi division.
