Lahore: On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, campaign of Punjab Food Authority is continuing against those involved in manufacturing and selling unhygienic, substandard and adulterated edible items.
Due to poor cleanliness condition, A & Sons Chips Factory at Green Town, Nishtar Town was sealed and an accused was arrested after registering an FIR with Green Town police station.
Director Operations Punjab Food Authority Ayesha Mumtaz has resealed Rehman Jam Factory, which was earlier sealed due to poor cleanliness condition and was unsealed illegally. Rehman Jam Factory was sealed due to poor cleanliness condition and using unhygienic food colors, lime stone and other substandard items. The building was full of insects due to poor cleanliness condition while a lizard was found in water tub.
Data Gunj Bakhsh Town Food Authority team sealed Fazal Sweets Production Unit at Kacha Jail Road due to poor cleanliness, using dirty freezer and uncovering of food.
Ravi Town Food Authority team sealed three small factories making vermicellies. There was a washroom in the production area of Zamindar Vermicellies. Qasam Vermicellies making factory was sealed due to poor cleanliness and involvement in illegal business. Talha Vermicellies making factory was sealed due to dirtiness and using rusty tub. It is worth mentioning that the employees working in the above mentioned institutions had not been undergone medical check up. FIRs have been registered against the owners of three factories making vermicellies and seven persons have been arrested.
Wahga Town Food Authority team sealed Fresh Shawarma due to poor cleanliness condition and using unhygienic food items and 75 kg substandard flour was destroyed on the spot. Food Authority arrested seven persons after getting registered a case against the owners.
