Big Names fined for selling dirty food

Lahore: Punjab Food Authority is conducting raids on shops of edible items and took action at more than 500 places. Notices were issued to 284 shopkeepers for improvement of cleanliness. A fine of more than four lakh rupees was imposed on poor cleanliness while nine accused were arrested.

Director General Food Authority Dr. Sajid Mehmood visited Ramazan bazaars for ensuring quality of daily use items and reviewed daily use commodities and issued on the spot instructions to the teams.

He told that inspection of Ramazan bazaars is continuing on daily basis. He said that samples of more than 100 edible items from Ramazan bazaars have been sent to laboratory for analysis. Special teams of Punjab Food Authority visited more than 500 shops and issued notices to 284 for improving cleanliness and imposed a fine of more than four lakh rupees.

They include Nice Bakery, Jawa Sweets, Al-Fazal Milk Shop, Bandu Khan, Lahore Chatkhara, Big Man Pizza and May Kang.Nishtar town sealed doce bakery and sweet located in kahna nau on account of expired milk and food trifle, no soap for utensil washing in fresh bake pizza section.

Data ganj baksh town food safety officer sealed MZ samosa patti unit with Directort operations in ramnagar rajgarh area FIR also registered in sandha police station 711/15 as ppl of that area attacked on PFA vehicles. Owner is arrested by Police.

Special teams under the supervision of Director Operations Punjab Food Authority Ayesha Mumtaz sealed Yasir Broast Faisal Town and Xi Wang Iqbal Town for poor cleanliness.

PFA Gulberg team visited Mei Kong Chinese Restaurant Barket market due to poor premises and worker hygiene and no soap for hand washing heavy fine imposed.

PFA Director operation Aysha Mumtaz visited M.Z Samosa Patti factory in Ramnagar, Rajgarh. Factory sealed owing to extreme unhygienic conditions, improper food storage, poor personnel hygiene, poor premises hygiene,no licence, no medical certificates. Owner Shahid Nadeem s/o M. Shafi also arrested.

PFA RAVI TOWN imposed heavy fine to usmania restaurant rang mahl due to poor premises hygiene, dirty freezer and workers without medicals.

Three factories of samosa patti including MZ Samosa Patti Rajgarh, Akbar Samosa Patti Mozang and Amjid Samosa Patti Wafaqi Colony were sealed on poor cleanliness while cases were registered against factory owners and police has arrested nine accused.
