Lahore: Principal Ameer ud Din Medical College & Lahore General Hospital Professor Anjum Habib Vohra has retired after reaching the age of superannuation.He has been promoted to grade 21 on his last day of service that he spent while serving the patients and official work.
A farewell ceremony was held at LGH to acknowledge his services.
The services rendered by Prof. Anjum Habib Vohra during his three year long tenure as Principal PGMI and LGH have been lauded during a meeting of Board of Management of PGMI held under the chairman ship of Gen. Retd. Zia ud Din Khawaja, the chairman BOM.
The participants of the meeting offered Prof. Vohra the membership of BOM in recognition his professional abilities, administrative skills, principles of merit and revolutionary steps taken during his tenure. They said that Prof. Vohra introduced efficient and transparent policies in accordance with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif which make him memorable for long time in the history of LGH. The most salient feature of his tenure is to introduce patient’s welfare schemes of worth Rs. 22 crore donated by the philanthropists, they said.
The speakers appreciated Prof. Vohra services in connection with the establishment of Ameer ud Din Medical College, Allied health paramedical school, provision of free books to nurses, oxygen supply at the beds of the patients, installment of bio metric system and water filtration plants. Prof. Vohra worked for incensement of hospital beds from 700 to 1000 in numbers. He managed to spend all the budget earmarked by Punjab Government for LGH, moreover, a number of projects like Emergency ward at Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences and completion of phase 3 of LGH and recruitment of more employees are the wonderful contribution of renowned Neuro Surgeon, they said.
Gen. Retd. Zia ud Din Khawaja said that good human beings, fine doctors and able administrators like Prof. Vohra are very rare class in our society. His career is a role model for his followers to come. All the participants expressed good wishes for life and health of Prof. Anjam Habib Vohra after his retirement.
