Lahore: A parallel transparent accountability and reward system is being practiced in police department under which the best performing officers / officials were rewarded and black sheeps always discouraged and punished on regular basis.
This was stated by Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera, while distributing cash rewards and CC-I among the 19 officers / officials of four regions in a ceremony held at Central Police Office, Lahore today, on their outstanding performance during official duties without caring about their lives.
On this occasion, DIG Headquarters, Farooq Mazhar, AIG Discipline, Dr. Inam Waheed, PSO to IGP, Tariq Rustam Chauhan and other senior officers of CPO were also present.
RPOs of three regions including Multan, D.G. Khan, Sahiwal and CCPO Lahore recommended these officers for reward. Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera distributed Rs.5,35,000 among 19 officers / officials of these regions. The 6 highest achievers of Sahiwal Region got 1,90,000 rupees cash with CC-I. Similarly, 11 officers / officials of Lahore and D.G. got 1,45,000 rupees cash reward with CC-I respectively, whereas, two officers of Multan region got Rs.55,000 cash with CC-I.
While appreciating the performance of these officers, IGP said that their services will be a roll model for the rest of field officers and they should follow the footprints of these courageous officers who performed their duties without caring about their lives while arresting the hardened POs, heinous criminals and foiled the dacoity attempts at banks and jeweller shops in these regions.
IGP further told the achievers that this department is taking various steps for their welfare in shape of loans, medical cover and educational scholarship. Whereas, the process of promotions from constable to DSP level officers will be completed within two months and 5000 headconstables will be recruited in police department.
