A tracking system is installed in the patrolling vehicles of Motorway Police

GPS tracking system training programme for patrolling vehicleLahore: The provision of timely help to road users in distress and to improve coordination and emergency response time on highways a tracking system has been installed in the patrolling vehicles of  Motorway Police , central zone. A special informative GPS tracking system training programme for patrolling vehicle was conducted in Sector Office N-5 Central.

The Zonal Commander , DIG Mirza Faran Baig  explained some of the benefits of the monitoring system. The GPS Tracking System would provide movement report ,excess idle report , stop report , geo fencing report ( route deviation ) speed violation report and also summary report. For one, it would make coordination much quicker and simpler. “Right now, officials have to contact individual beat cars to find their locations. With the GPS tracking system system, the location of all cars is available at the click of a mouse,” he said.

DIG Mirza Faran Baig said it would also improve response times to emergencies help line 130 calls as the Control Room would be able to immediately identify which cars were closest and dispatch them to the scene, he said.

DIG Mirza Faran Baig said that provision of timely help and coordination  would get a boost with the help of tracking system.He said the system would keep the control room updated on whether any of the cars had moved out of the beat in any case.He said the officials driving these vehicles were found to have been more vigilant. He said the GPS devices would enable the officials at the control center to contact the nearest patrolling car in case of any accidents and incident. “They will also guide them about the most suitable routes,” he said.
