Russia supports Pakistan in its fight against terrorism: Duma chief

Lahore:Duma chief had said that they would stand by Pakistan in its fight against terrorism and extremism for stability in the region. He stated these views while talking to Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif who called on him.

In a statement, the DG ISPR said that the “Our independent and consistent relations will further grow,” he quoted the Duma chief, as saying.

The Russian Federation’s Duma State chairman said that Pakistan and Russia were taking keen interest in enhancing cooperation in defence.

The Russian Federation’s Duma State chairman appreciated Pakistan’s efforts for stability in region and ongoing operation against terrorists.Both sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation, more mil exchanges to benefit from each other’s combat experience.

Meanwhile, COAS General Raheel Sharif visited a defence exhibition and took keen interest in helicopters and tanks.
