Lahore: Health Department Punjab has notified a comprehensive post graduate trainee induction policy for the doctors serving in both public and private sector.
This is another revolutionary step of Punjab Government towards brighter future of doctors, said a spokesman of Health Department. He further said that through this policy, a transparent, merit based selection criteria has been introduced which would be applicable uniformly at all the medical and dental institutions imparting postgraduate training in accordance with the vision of the Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.
The spokesman further said that new policy would not only provide ample opportunities for postgraduate training of doctors but it would also helpful for providing better treatment facilities to the people. According to the notification issued from the Secretary to Government of Punjab Health Department, additional 20 marks shall be awarded during PG Selection to those serving doctors who worked at basic health units for two years.
Previously notification was issued for giving 15 additional marks for two year service at Basic Health Unit, now, according to fresh notification 5 marks have been increased and it would be 20 additional marks for PG selection. All those doctors shall be eligible to apply to the post in public health facilities through PPSC or Adhoc hiring. Paid PG training throughout course would be provided to the selectees.
