Lahore: Government College University, Lahore Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman and faculty members have expressed profound grief on the sad demise of eminent essayist, author and academic, Prof Dr Abdul Hameed Khayal.
He rendered commendable services as distinguished professor of English at the GC University, Lahore. He had also served as Vice Principal and Chairman, Department of English at the Government College, Lahore. He contributed witty essays to several national English dailies.
Prof A. H. Khayal received his doctoral degree from University of London, UK in 1967 for his dissertation on British philosopher and essayist, J.S. Mill. Vice Chancellor said that Prof Khayal was his teacher and his death had created a void which would never be filled.
In his condolence message to the bereaved family, the Vice Chancellor prayed to the Almighty Allah to bless the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the deceased family members to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude.
Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the death of teacher of Govt. College University and prominent writer Prof. Dr. Abdul Hameed Khayal.
In a condolence message, the Chief Minister expressed sympathies and condolences with the bereaved family and prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude.
