Lahore: A famous shopping mall of the city,Al Fatah departmental store Liberty Market,gutted again third time in just a decade.No other building has been torched in the market and even in the city in ten years. Lahore Police’s senior officer Omar Virk has demand that a transparent inquiry should be conducted to find the facts as fire in Al Fatah Store is becoming routine,he added.
After failing to control the fire by 12 vehicles of fire brigade unit,PAF fire brigade unit was also sent to help the rescue teams,who were also busy in operation.
CCPO Lahore Capt( R) Muhammad Amin Vance and DCO Lahore Capt (R) Usman are there to monitor the rescue operation.
According to the Rescue 1122,they received a fire call today in the morning at around quarter pass six, upon that fire brigade unit immediately sent for rescue operation who saved the lives of 17 people in the building. The fire has been controlled by the rescue staff after the hectic efforts of eight hours.
The building is damaged with the fire as cracks are visible on the building. Sky touching smoke has captured the area but no danger was left there anymore , a rescue worker said to the media teams.
