Billions allocated in the budget for the development of south Punjab: Shahbaz Sharif

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that the new budget of Punjab province is a historic budget. He said that billions of rupees have been allocated in the budget for the development of rural areas. He said that the new budget will reflect progress and prosperity of the province.

He was talking to media-men after attending budget session in Punjab Assembly today. The Chief Minister said that a historic programme has been started for the construction and rehabilitation of rural areas and implementation of this programme will strengthen rural economy,lakhs of new job  opportunities will be created, while farmers,cultivators, labourers and all segments of the society will benefit from this big programme.

He said that billions of rupees have been allocated in the budget for the development of south Punjab as well as uplift of education, health, infrastructure and social sector. He said that work has been started on metro bus project in Multan. He said that metro bus system has revolutionized transport system and changed transport culture. He said that there are splendid programmes in the new budget for the progress and prosperity of the people.
