Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that the death of two real brothers due to firing of police officials in Rawalpindi is very tragic. He said that there is no justification for direct firing for not stopping at a police picket and the killing of two brothers by police is an extremely brutal and inhuman act. He said that the police officials have shown an extremely unprofessional attitude. He said that though he cannot bring the two innocent brothers back but justice will be provided to the aggrieved family.
Addressing a meeting of Cabinet Committee on Law and Order through video link at Civil Secretariat, the Chief Minister said that a home has been destroyed in Rawalpindi due to police firing and who will answer to the mother and sisters of the deceased brothers.
The Chief Minister asked senior police officials as to who is responsible for the training of police personnel in such a situation. He said that RPO and DPO Rawalpindi have not worked properly for the training of police. He said that such incidents are intolerable. He expressed his extreme displeasure over the unprofessional attitude of police officials and cabinet committee on law and order regarding the tragic incident in Rawalpindi and reprimanded the concerned authorities.
Shahbaz Sharif said that Cabinet Committee on Law and Order should pay attention to the basic training of police and a comprehensive plan be made to check such incidents in future. Provincial Minister for Home Col.(R) Shuja Khanzada, Chief Secretary, Inspector General Police and concerned secretaries attended the meeting through video link at Civil Secretariat whereas RPO Rawalpindi and DPO Rawalpindi through video link from Rawalpindi.
A report was presented to the Chief Minister regarding the death of two brothers due to police firing.
