Punjab Health Department will start pilot project of inventory management system in DHQ hospital Sheikhupura

Secretary Health Punjab Jawad Rafique MalikLahore: Punjab Health Department will start pilot project of inventory management system in DHQ hospital Sheikhupura with the collaboration of UK Department for International Development (DFID). The project will also include two basic health units and two rural health centers. It will be run jointly by Burki Institute of Public Policy and Sub National Governance (SNG).

It was disclosed by Secretary Health Punjab Jawad Rafique Malik in the MoU signing ceremony for launching the project. Special Secretary Health Salman Mufti, DG Health Dr. Zahid Pervaiz, Director Punjab Strategy, Policy Management Unit(PSPU) Ali Bahadur Qazi, Shahid Nazam from Burki Institute of Public Policy, Hamid Yaqub Sheikh from SNG, Khalid Sher Dil, Dr. Amna Imam and other officers were present on this occasion.

Under the project, inventory management system will be launched in DHQ hospital Sheikhupura and two BHUs and two RHCs. It was informed that a database regarding available medicines and required drugs would be developed under this project. Similarly, a database of patients will also be formulated to assess disease burden and disease pattern. This project would be completed within eighteen months and all the data would be uploaded on IT dashboard. These dashboards would also be installed at the office of Secretary Health and PSPU.

Secretary Health informed that after the success of pilot project, it would be replicated in other districts. On this occasion, signing ceremony of MoU was held in the presence of Secretary Health. Hamid Yaqub Sheikh of SNG and Shahid Nazam from Burki Insitute of Public Policy signed the document.
