Nepotism and incompetence is prevalent at PM&DC:Dr. Muhammad Ashraf Nizami

Dr Shahid Malik,Dr Ashraf NizamiLahore: Nepotism and incompetence is prevalent at Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PM&DC) which is playing havoc with medical institutions and doctor community. The current postings of Secretary and Registrar Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PM&DC) are glaring examples of this nepotism. This was observed in a meeting at PMA House Lahore today which was chaired by President (Elect) PMA Center Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ashraf Nizami.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Muhammad Tanveer Anwar, Dr. Shahid Malik, Dr. Izhar Ahmad Ch., Dr. Kamran Saeed, Dr. Tariq Rehmani, Dr. Wajid Ali, Dr. Aleem Nawaz, Dr. Talha Sherwani, Dr. Rana Sohail, Dr. Asma Yasin, Dr.Qazi Yasir, Dr. Tehsina Zafar, Dr. Iram Shahzadi and others.

Office bearers observed that there is administrative and financial anarchy at (PM&DC) and anti-doctor policies at PM&DC are order of the day. A so called nine members of executive council of PM&DC has to run affairs of PM&DC under section 10 of ordinance 2012 but actually all decisions are taken by a usurper group of three members at PM&DC. The executive council is working beyond its given mandate. The current decision of exit exam for junior house officers without any spade work, CME model without any academic preparation and undue delay in delivering registration certificates of doctors is making conditions worse for doctors.

Office bearers have demanded Prime Minister of Pakistan to take notice of this anarchy and harassment at PM&DC which is creating unrest among doctors.
