Lahore: Secretary Health Punjab Jawad Rafique Malik has said that five tiers service structure for the nurses will be evolved. He directed officers of the Department to prepare and submit draft of service structure for nurses within a month. He said that record promotion of nurses have been made to next grade during last few months. He said that besides filling thousands of vacant posts, recruitment were also made through public service commission at new posts.
He said this while talking to a delegation of Young Nurses Association (YNA) today. The delegation led by President YNA Rozina Manzoor and General Secretary Shahnaz Kauser in his office. Additional Secretary Health (Admin) Adnan Zafar and Deputy Secretary (Admin) Raja Mansoor were present on the occasion.
The delegation apprised Secretary Health of their problems. The members of the delegation complained that some nurses have been promoted as Assistant Nursing Instructors ignoring the seniority. Secretary Health directed Additional Secretary to immediately prepare lists of promoted nurses and review the seniority. He said that if any nurse was deprived of her right, she will be given to her right and the promotion order of junior will be cancelled.
The meeting decided that the meeting of departmental promotion committee will be held on June 10 and 19 and in the first week of July for the promotion of nurses in next grade. The meeting also decided to issue show cause notice to nurses absent from duty for many years for renewal from service. The meeting also agreed to the proposal of starting male nursing cadre in Health Department.
On the complaint of nurses, Secretary Health assured that mess and dress allowance will not be deducted during leave for ensuring implementation on summary approved by Chief Minister Punjab. He also directed to issue orders to all concerned departments. He assured that those nurses whose ACRs and service record is complete, will be promoted. He said that the good news of promotion of nurses to next grade will be given before Eid.
Secretary Health said that Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has taken revolutionary steps for promotion of nurses, regularization of contract nurses and creating thousands of new vacancies and for the first time in the history thousands of nurses were promoted at a time. He said that nurses should make service to ailing humanity as their motto and pay special attention to the treatment and looking after of the patients and behave with them politely.
Jawad Rafique Malik said that besides treatment, the politeness of nurses and doctors proves helpful in early recovery of the patients.
