Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that the concerned departments and institutions worked in a professional manner during cricket series between Pakistan and Zimbabwe and through effective measures they foiled the nefarious designs of the enemy and proved that they can face any challenge. The Chief Minister appreciated the hard work of concerned departments which resulted in the success of Pakistan-Zimbabwe cricket series. He said that cricket fans after six years got the opportunity to see excellent cricket and this series will play a key role in the revival of international cricket in Pakistan.
This was stated by him while addressing a function held in honour of the authorities of concerned institutions and departments for making excellent arrangements for Pakistan-Zimbabwe cricket series, here today. Rich tributes were also paid to the leadership of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif with regard to arrangements between Pakistan-Zimbabwe cricket series.
Shahbaz Sharif lauded the efforts of the concerned institutions for ensuring success of the cricket series and said that Cabinet Committee on Law & Order, district administration of Lahore, police, Pakistan Cricket Control Board and law enforcement agencies made foolproof arrangements for this purpose. He said that administration, police and law enforcement institutions discharged their responsibilities in an efficient manner considering it a national obligation.
The Chief Minister said that he on behalf of Punjab government fully appreciates the excellent performance of administration, police, law enforcement institution and Pakistan Cricket Control Board. He said that hard work, commitment and determination seen during Pakistan-Zimbabwe cricket series were unprecedented and any challenge can be met with the same spirit. He said that concerned departments foiled the nefarious designs of the enemy through collective efforts.
Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan-Zimbabwe cricket series has proved that people of Pakistan are peaceful and love cricket. He said that enthusiasm of the people during the cricket series was worth seeing and they fully enjoyed the game. He also thanked Zimbabwean Cricket Board and the players and said that they have shown courage by playing cricket series in Pakistan. He said that people of Pakistan will always remember the encouraging and positive attitude of the players of Zimbabwean cricket team.
Chairman PCB Sheharyar Khan said that the credit for the success of Pakistan-Zimbabwe cricket series goes to Shahbaz Sharif and his government. He said that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and provincial institutions worked round the clock for the success of the series. He expressed the hope that more cricket teams will visit Pakistan.
