Lahore: The Old Ravians Union has congratulated Vice Chancellor, all faculty members and alumni as the Higher Education Commission has included the Government College University, Lahore in the best ten universities of the country in general universities category.
Registrar Dr Akhyar Farrukh said that GCU had always been considered in the category of small or medium size universities and it was the first time GCU was competing with the universities which were older and larger than GCU, which became a university in 2002.
He said they were proud that GCU was the only university in the country which had four US patents to its credit. He said more than 30 per cent faculty of GCU was PhD.
He said they were initiating seven more modern postgraduate programmes this year besides further strengthening their faculty.
