Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that he is deeply grieved over the death of two lawyers due to clash between lawyers and police in Daska. He said that Punjab government equally shares the grief of the bereaved families of deceased lawyers. He said that the SHO responsible for firing has immediately been arrested and a case has been registered. He said that instructions have been issued to submit the challan of the case in the court as per law at the earliest. He said that all demands of justice will be fulfilled in this incident.
He was addressing a high level meeting at Civil Secretariat through video link, here today. Shahbaz Sharif said that there is no justification to take law into hand and damage public and private properties. He said that the elements damaging national property are not doing any service to the country. The Chief Minister said that maintenance of law and order and protection of life and property is the responsibility of the state which will be fulfilled at all cost. He said that the firing by a police official is intolerable.
The Chief Minister also appreciated the performance of cabinet committee for law and order. During the meeting a report was also presented to the Chief Minister about today’s situation created due to heartrending incident of Daska. The meeting reviewed the situation in detail arising due to tragic incident of Daska.
Provincial Ministers Col. (R) Shuja Khanzada, Rana Mashhood Ahmed, Khalil Tahir Sindhu, Member National Assembly Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmed, Rana Sanaullah, Zaeem Hussain Qadri, Special Assistant Rana Maqbool Ahmed, Chief Secretary, Inspector General Police and senior officers attended the meeting at Civil Secretariat through video link.
