Lahore: Member National Assembly & Chairman Emergency Response Committee Samanabad Town Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmed has directed anti-dengue squads to accelerate activities for finding larva and WASA officials to check all tube-wells located in the limits of town and immediately removed leakage of water and submit report in the next meeting.
He said this while presiding over a meeting regarding eradiation of anti at Samanabad Town, here today. Deputy Director Education Monitoring Rana Abdul Qayyum, Town Municipal Officer Malik Imtiaz Awan and other concerned officers were present on the occasion. Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmed directed town administration to pay special attention to surveillance of dengue larva and if needed, IRS should also be carried out.
Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmed strongly reprimanded PHA officials on the report of dengue larva in the water of pedal boats in the lake of Gulshan-e-Iqbal and directed to immediately clear it. He stressed upon officers of Lahore Development Authority to submit list of under construction buildings and their performance report with proof and pictures. Officials of Lahore Waste Management Authority told that the work of clearance of plots and desilting of nullahs is continuing.
Town Municipal Officer Malik Imtiaz Awan told the meeting that town administration has checked 3344 indoor and 2124 outdoors places in three days and dengue larva was found at four places which was destroyed. Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmed also expressed his displeasure over non-presence of officers of Education, Higher Education and Social Welfare officers in the meeting and said that elimination of dengue is a national problem and we have to jointly eliminate it. He directed TMO Malik Imtiaz Awan to write letters to the concerned secretaries regarding absence of officers of their respective departments.
