Lahore: Former Punjab Governor and member Core Committee of the Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI) Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar met the Iranian Consulate General MuhammadHussain Bani Asadi and discussed bilateral relations between Pakistan and Iran, here on Wednesday.
Both the leaders also reviewed in detail the overall situation prevailing in the entire region. They also discussed progress on the issue of Pakistan Iran Gas Pipeline and other international matters.
On the occasion, Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar said that Pakistan has been facing acute shortage of electricity,gas and other energy resources .He said that Pakistan Iran Gas Pipeline project is vital to overcome energy crises and for the sake of prosperity in the country.He appreciated the efforts by the Iranian leadership for ensuring peace ,prosperity and development in Pakistan.
He said that PTI always render services to extend cooperation with the neighbouring countries and international community on the basis of peace,love and brotherhood,He said that PTI wanted to further strengthen relations with the people of Iran. He said that Pakistan gave great sacrifices in the war against terrorism and extremism and Pakistani people wanted peace and stability in the country.
Iranian Consul General said that relations between Pakistan and Iran are improving and people of both countries consider each other as brothers.He said that Iran will continue cooperation with Pakistan to overcome energy crises.
