Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has condemned in strongest terms the death sentence announced to former Egyptian President Dr Muhammad Mursi and one hundred others, and said the people of Pakistan rejected this court verdict. He has appealed to the world community to raise its voice against the court verdict and remarked that the west could not tolerate even the peaceful constitutional struggle of the Islamic movements.
Addressing an Ulema convention under the aegis of the Jamiat e Talaba Arabia, at Islamabad on Sunday, he said the Egyptian court had revived the memory of Pharaoh, and added that Egyptian General Sisi was destined to meet the fate of Pharaoh.
The JI chief demanded setting up of a “Truth Commission” to bring to light the facts regarding the Karachi Safoora massacre. He said either the government should find out the truth or be prepared for another big tragedy. He said there could not be an act of greater cowardice than shooting women folk in the heads.
Sirajul Haq said that thousands of appointments had been made in Karachi police under the pressure of a particular organization, and such a police force would protect the interests of its political masters instead of the general public. He said the facts revealed by the Corps Commander Karachi should be a matter of concern for the politicians and the Sindh police should be depoliticized. .
Underscoring the need for Muslim unity, the JI chief said that the madrissahs in the country were preaching unity of the Ummah, and not of Maslak or sects. He said that sectarianism was not the agenda f the Muslims as division among the Ummah served the enemy designs. He said that a uniform educational syllabi was more important for the country than a nuclear bomb. H said the JI on coming to power, would introduce a uniform education system all over the country. This system would provide best doctors, engineers and other professional to the country and a generation that would abhors corruption and cheating.
Sirajul Haq said that education should be get high priority of the government and the budget for education should be next only to defense.
