NCJP welcomes the statement of the Pope Francis on recognising Palestine

Lahore: National Commission for Justice and Peace (NCJP), a Human Rights body of the Catholic Church wants to appreciate the long struggle of Palestinians and the international diplomatic support for Palestine as a sovereign and democratic state.

NCJP Chairperson His Lordship Joseph Arshad, National Director, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Yousaf Mani and Executive Director Mr. Cecil Shane Chaudhry said in a joint statement that we need to stand with the people of Palestine and stop killing of innocents. They appreciated the statement by the Holy Father Pope Francis on recognising Palestine as a democratic sovereign state.

His Holiness spokesman Rev. Federico Lombardi clearly stated that the Vatican has recognized Palestine as state. NCJP Chairperson His Lordship Joseph Arshad stated that the entire Christian community in Pakistan supports and stands with the Holy Father Pope Francis in the hope that Palestine may soon see the dawn of a free and independent state.
