PEF formally launched the pilot of “school improvement program”

Managing Director PEF, Dr. Aneela SalmanLahore: The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has formally launched the pilot of “school improvement program” to help the academically weak partners to improve their academics and start providing quality education to the students. For this purpose, 110 needy partner schools from twenty one different districts including Lahore have been short-listed and offered to join the SIP. These schools will be provided subject specialists who will perform multifarious duties in these schools to help improve the overall quality standards.

Managing Director PEF, Dr. Aneela Salman stated this while addressing the launching ceremony of pilot phase of ‘school improvement program’ at children’s library complex on Thursday. Program directors, concerned officers of the foundation, subject specialists along-with schools heads attended the ceremony. She said that under this program, 38 subject specialists will be attached with 110 selected schools, including 18 from Lahore; these subject specialists will perform as Monitor, Facilitator & Trainer (MFT) so that the deficient schools could get rid of their weaknesses and improve the overall academic standards.

“Students are our best asset and it’s our joint responsibility to work for their betterment in shape of good education which would help them to excel in practical life. This will produce talented leadership to steer the country towards prosperity and development.”

MD PEF said that provision of quality education is our main focus and different steps have been taken to achieve this goal. PEF is playing an important role in achieving the objects of ‘Parho Punjab, Barho Punjab.’ PEF has successfully introduced different interventions to help the low-cost private partners in extending quality education to their students who mostly belong to economically deprived communities.

Earlier, PEF director (CPDP) Bushra Saeed Khan presented her address of welcome. The function was also addressed by PEF officials who talked about different facets of public private partnership.
