Lahore: Following teachings of Sufi saints is utmost necessary for promoting peace, brotherhood, religious tolerance and social values in the society.
These views were expressed by speakers in a seminar held on the occasion of 23rd annual Urs of prominent spiritual leader and Sufi intellectual Hazrat Wasif Ali Wasif, here today which was attended by a large number of people belonging to various walks of life.
The seminar was presided over by former Federal Minister for Information & Broadcasting Qamar-uz-Zaman Kaira while Mansoor-ur-Rehman Afridi, Sahibzada Kashif Mehmood, Dr. Ajmal Niazi and Naveed Anjam expressed their views regarding teachings of Hazrat Wasif Ali Wasif.
Qamar-uz-Zaman Kaira said that adoption of the teachings of tolerance, accommodation and patience of Sufi saints in our general and political activities, will help strengthening democracy and eliminating the menace of terrorism. He said that in order to bring positive change, we will have to forward process of positive thinking and dialogue.
Mansoor-ur-Rehman Afridi in his address regarding the personality and thoughtful assets of Hazrat Wasif Ali Wasif said that he had addressed to human beings and instead of propagating only one sect stressed upon the welfare of humanity along with personal negation.
Sahibzada Kashif Mehmood said that Hazrat Wasif Ali Wasif has narrated teachings of great Sufis in an easy manner which guides every human being towards constructive role and becoming useful for the society.
Naveed Anjam said that Wasif Ali Wasif created hopes in the hearts of the people about the blessings of Allah Almighty.
