Dr Naeem Khan gets EU Post-doc exchange scholarship

Dr Naeem Khan gets EU Post-doc exchange scholarshipLahore: Punjab University Dean Faculty of Life Sciences, Professor of Zoology and former Registrar Prof. Dr. Muhammad Naeem Khan has won the prestigious European Union’s Erasmus Mundus Post-Doctoral Exchange Scholarship for 2015.

According to the EXPERTS SUSTAIN Consortium Grant announced by the International Program Coordinator, Gottingen International, George-August Gottingen University, Germany, European Commission’s EXPERTS (Exchange by Promoting quality Education, Research & Training in South and South-East Asia) SUSTAIN PostDoc Fellowship grant for 6 months has been awarded to Prof. Dr. Muhammad Naeem Khan for his research placement in the University of Zagreb, Croatia. EXPERTS – SUSTAIN is a European-funded Erasmus Mundus Action 2 Project which began in 2014 and will close in 2018. This project intends to finance 172 mobilities between Europe and South/South-East Asia for academic and professional purposes.  The EXPERTS consortium consists of 20 partner universities, 7 of which are from European and 13 of which are from South and Southeast Asian (from Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Bhutan, China, India, Indonesia, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Thailand) higher education institutions.

Earlier during 2014-15, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Naeem Khan has been awarded “FAO/UN Travel Grant Award” for Conference in Rome, Italy; “Nor-Fishing Foundation Travel Grant Award for Fisheries Exhibitions in Trondheim, Norway; American Fisheries Society Travel Grant for AFS Annual Conference in Mazatlan, Mexico and World Aquaculture Society (WAS) Travel Grant Award for “World Aquaculture 2014” conference in Adelaide, Australia. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Naeem Khan has 30 years of illustrious professional career as Dean, Professor, Registrar and Director External Linkages, Punjab University; Professor, Dean & Chairman, University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (UVAS) and Director Fisheries, Government of Punjab, 1996-2003. A Ph.D. from the University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada, he is already recipient of five gold medals and many other international awards.  He is author of forty seven (47) internationally published and forty nine (49) nationally published research papers and have attended twenty nine (29) international conferences overseas.
