Lahore: The Government College University Lahore Horticulture Society Thursday held Dry Flower & Painting Competitions on the themes of ‘peace’ and ‘colours of life’. Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman was the Chief Guest at the competition.About 15 teams from different educational institutions took part in the competitions held in three categories; Dry Flower, Shirt Painting and Poster Painting.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Rahman appreciated the flower decoration by students, saying that flowers are the symbol of peace and they cast positive impact on thinking of a person. He lauded efforts the GCU Horticulture Society for organising healthy competitions among youth. He said that such competitions encouraged the young generation to exhibit their talent. The Vice Chancellor also said that the co-curricular activities played a vital role in the character-building and personality development of students. Later, the vice chancellorpresented shields and certificates to the winning students.
