Lahore: Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has called upon the government to stop the financial murder of the workers through the privatization of state institutions.
In a statement on the Labour Day, he said the PIA, Steel Mills, OGDC, WAPDA and Railways were important national institutions and the rulers should trust the workers of these institutions and help them to run these institutions instead of handing these over to their cronies on throw away prices.
Liaqat Baloch said the workers had offered huge sacrifices in their war against the oppressive capitalist system. He said that the workers must forge unity in their ranks to protect their rights.
He said the JI would continue to raise its voice against privatization and for the workers’ rights. He however said that if the poor, the workers, the Haris and Kisans got united for the enforcement of the Islamic system based on the Holy Quran and the Sunnah, the present system of exploitation and oppression could not continue.
