Lahore: Chief Organiser of Tehreek-e-Bahali-e-CNG Raja Jahangir Akhtar on Friday said CNG sector of Punjab is going down by the passage of every day.
World’s number one CNG industry in Pakistan is braving conspiracies while the CNG industry in India and Bangladesh is enjoying patronage of the government, he said.
Speaking to a protest rally at Fateh Jhang, he said that the development of CNG industry and one percent gas losses in neighbouring countries clearly indicates that there is something inheritably wrong with Pakistan and its policymakers.
He said that machinery of CNG stations has rusted to trash to trash while operators are unable to meet fixed expenses as this sector has been kept closed intentionally since six months.
We will go to any extent including protest outside Prime Minister House and CM Punjab Secretariat to get our rights, he said, adding that closed CNG outlets are costing over one to two hundred thousand per month which is not viable.
He called upon the leaders of the CNG sector to unite and strive for the cause by uniting forces against conspirators who want to lay waste to CNG industry.
A gas company is dancing on the tune of a banker and a broker to destroy CNG sector by impeding import and distribution of LNG which is unfortunate, he said.
Raja Jahangir Akhtar said that government forced owners of over ninety-five percent wagons to remove diesel engines to convert to CNG for reducing pollution. Now these public service vehicles are without CNG and compelled to use costly petrol.
At the occasion, a protest was announced at Attock city today (Saturday).
