Lahore: Provincial Minister for Population Welfare Begum Zakia Shahnawaz has said that distribution of laptops among students for the promotion of latest education is historic achievement of the government.
She was addressing laptops distribution ceremony at King Edward Medical College, here today. Vice Chancellor of the College Faisal Masud presented address of welcome. Dr. Mudassar Faisal, Prof. Qazi Saeed, Prof. Samiya Javed, Adnan Ahmed Bhatti besides a large number of students of the medical college were present on the occasion.
Begum Zakia Shahnawaz said that Punjab government has started a number of projects for the promotion of information technology in educational institutions. She said that 212 students of the college have been given laptops on the basis of merit. She stressed upon the students to utilize all their energies for acquiring knowledge as it is a key to success. She said that a project has also been started for the provision of free Wi-Fi to educational institutions and the students to avail internet facility at their homes.
She said that distribution of laptops is important for the development of science and technology and achieving success in the world. She said that students should work hard in the education field and follow their own culture.
