Lahore: Rana Abdur Raheem Memorial Cricket Tournament rolled into action at Shamnagar Cricket Ground, Chauburji here on Sunday.
Punjab Minister for Sports Rana Mashud Ahmed Khan inaugurated the tournament by playing a stroke at a grand opening ceremony. Thousands of cricket enthusiasts were present in the ground to watch the entertaining matches of the event.
Addressing inaugural ceremony, Rana Mashud, informed that as many as 132 cricket teams are taking part in the event. “It’s one of the biggest cricket tournaments of Lahore Region. The shining players of the tournament will be encouraged handsomely. The potential cricketers will also be given opportunities at higher level cricket tournaments of the country,” he told. “We are quite hopeful of getting dozens of talented players from this grand cricket activity,” the Minister added.
