Lahore: Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab on Health, Khawaja Salman Rafique has said that personalities like Principal PGMI & General Hospital Prof. Anjam Habib Vohra are an asset of the country and the nation and benefiting from their experience is utmost necessary. He said that Punjab government while giving priority to the guidance of such personalities is making substantial increase in annual budget 2015-16 of teaching hospitals of the province including Lahore along with basic health units so that best treatment facilities could be provided to the people in the real sense.
He expressed these views while addressing a function held with regard to awarding gold medal to Prof. Anjam Habib Vohra on his invaluable services in health sector and rendering professional affairs in a better manner.
Chairman Board of Management former Gen. Zia-ud-Din Khawaja, faculty members of the institution, MS Dr. Saeed Sahoban, Principal Nursing School Raisa Ishtiaq, Deputy Chief Nursing Superintendent Farhat Mehboob, Nursing Superintendent Razia Bano and a large number of doctors and nurses were present on the occasion.
Kh. Salman Rafique said it is vision of Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif to provide best medical facilities to the people and evolve modern system of treatment. That is the steps taken by Prof. Anjam Habib Vohra for creating public awareness against dengue, measles and other diseases are not only appreciable but government is also settling SOPs keeping in view his future programme so that citizens could be saved from these diseases.
He said that Prof. Anjam Habib Vohra as Principal took service to the ailing humanity as a mission and completed important projects with the donations of about Rs. 20 crore from philanthropists which is a clear proof to his love to humanity. He stressed upon the need to forward the work started by Prof. Anjam Habib Vohra as a mission to earn blessing of Allah Almighty in this world and the world here after.
