Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf is a people-only party: Muhammad Sarwar

Lahore: Former Governor of Punjab and Senior Member Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Muhammad Sarwar said, “Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf is a people-only party. It has been fighting for the rights of Pakistanis for over 19 years and will continue to fight in the future. Keeping in light the current situation of Pakistan, where terrorism, poverty and inflation has engripped our nation by its roots, the suicide rate and target killings have surged to an astonishing number. In a country where people are living in dilapidated conditions and are deprived of even the basic necessities of life such as health care, sanitation, proper housing and education, all governments have failed to provide an effective solution for these alarming social issues. If left untreated, Pakistan will continue to regress as a country.”

The Former Governor  condemned the murder of Pakistani Human Rights Activist; Sabeen Mahmud. He said; “Yesterday, Pakistan lost another brave daughter. Sabeen’s death is a blow to the nation. The people are questioning the country’s security networks and are demanding justice. Policy makers have failed to protect their own people.”

During a conversation with various delegates in his office in Scotland, Mr. Sarwar expressed deep concerns regarding the current governance. “Successive  governments have always carried a laid back attitude regarding the core problems of Pakistan. The Pakistan Parliament is a hot seat for debate but fails to have consensus on solving social and economic issues hitting our nation. As Pakistan is ruled under the hands of a few poltical  dominating families, the nation continues to suffer. Meanwhile, the few handful people that Pakistan has who have the courage to air their voice against the ‘political villains’ are killed unmercifully on the roads.”

The Former Governor also emphasized on the poltical system in Karachi. He said that Karachi is dominated by terrorists and poltical villains who have crippled the once capital of Pakistan. It is agonizing to know that not even a single Pakistani is safe amidst this whole political dogma
