Lahore: Central Chairman All Pakistan CNG Association Captain (retd) Shuja Anwar has demanded of the Petroleum Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to reopen CNG stations in Punjab.
It sixth straight month that CNG stations in Punjab are closed pushing majority of the 2200 CNG operators to bankruptcy with no hope in sight, he said.
In a statement issued here today, he said that CNG owners must get relief in prices as they continue to pay for the salaries of staff all the fixed taxes as well as fees since six months.
Captain Shuja said that CNG industry has been flourishing in other provinces while it is on the brink in Punjab which calls for immediate remedial measures by the authorities.
He said that CNG sector tried best to get LNG for CNG but it seems impossible now therefore it should be provided gas otherwise the once vibrant sector will collapse.
Providing natural gas will not burden system but benefit millions, he said, adding that SNGPL has 1500 mmcfd gas per day while CNG industry need only 32 mmcfd per day while is 2.13 per cent of the gas company capacity.
