Government will afford all the expenditures of Deaf Cricket T20 World Cup:Usman Anwar

1Lahore: Usman Anwar, Director General Sports Punjab, has announced that the government will afford all the expenditures of Deaf Cricket T20 World Cup whenever Pakistan Deaf Cricket Association (PDCA) organized the event in Pakistan; he was addressing the inaugural ceremony of First Asia Deaf Cricket T20 Cup as chief guest on Sunday evening at Sabzazar Stadium.

Besides the host team, the deaf teams from India, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka are featuring in the 4-Nation tourney.

DG SBP Usman Anwar asked the Pakistan Deaf Cricket Association to organize the grand T20 World Cup event. “Don’t bother for expenses, we will make all the arrangements for the tournament,” he added. He further informed that Rs 1.9 million are also being approved by Sports Board Punjab for the sports activities of deaf cricketers.

He said that the sports promotion has always been a top priority of the govt. “It’s quite heartening that the foreign teams have started to visit Pakistan. Dozens more international teams will also tour Pakistan next month in connection with Punjab International Sports Festival”.

Usman further said that thousands of sports grounds have been prepared throughout the province where a large number of youth were demonstrating their talent in various games.

Earlier, Pakistan Deaf Cricket Association officials welcomed DG SBP Usman Anwar and introduced the visiting teams with the chief guest. The horse dance and aerobics by male and female students were also presented in the grand opening ceremony of First Asia Deaf Cricket T20 Cup.
