Shahbaz Sharif consoles the family over the death of two kids in Kasur

CM PunjabLahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that the negative trend of firing on the occasion of joy or marriage will not be tolerated in the province and strict action will be taken against the persons responsible of firing on such occasions. He said that the tradition of firing on the occasion of joy is a menace of society and police will have to discharge its duty with responsibility for curbing it. He warned that if any firing incident happened on the occasion of joy or marriage in future, action will be taken against the concerned police officers.
He was talking to police officials and the heirs after the arrival at the home of two minor children Waseem and Shamshad who died due to aerial firing in a marriage function a few days ago at village Ghatti Kalenjer near Ganda Singhwala (Kasur) today. The Chief Minister expressed heartfelt sympathies and condolences with the parents and other family members of two minor children Waseem and Shamshad. He also offered Fateha for the departed souls.

Speaking on the occasion, Shahbaz Sharif said that taking immediate action on firing incidents on the occasion of joy is the duty of police. He said that if firing incident happens in any area, it is responsibility of police to move immediately and take legal action against the persons responsible but in the incident occurred in Ganda Singhwala, police did not fulfill its responsibility.

He said that the accused involved in the incident should have been arrested immediately but lamented that concerned police did not discharge its responsibility.

The Chief Minister ordered to immediately suspend concerned DSP and SHO of Ganda Singhwala for showing negligence in the performance of duty and warned that no laxity will be tolerated in the performance of duties. He said that police officers should realize their responsibilities.

Shahbaz Sharif said that some incidents of firing occurred on the joy of victory of Pakistan Muslim League-N but he took immediate action and not only legal action was taken indiscriminately against the persons responsible but they were also arrested. He said that indiscriminate strict action will also be taken for eradication of such incidents in future as well.

While talking to the heirs of the children, the Chief Minister assured immediate provision of justice to them and added that the death of two minor children due to firing in marriage function is highly tragic. Shahbaz Sharif said that he cannot bring back to their innocent children but promised that justice will be done.

Expressing the sense of sorrow and grief over this sad incident, Shahbaz Sharif said that those killed innocent children will not escape deterrent punishment as per law. He consoled the heirs of the deceased children and assured provision of justice. He said that action will be taken as per law in this incident and all demands of justice will be fulfilled.

The Chief Minister directed police authorities to immediately submit the chalan of this case in the court. He said that strict implementation on the law for eradication of firing incidents in the marriage functions should be ensured in future and he will not tolerate any negligence in this regard. He also announced financial assistance of Rs.5 lakh each for the heirs of two minor children and cheques of financial assistance were also given to them.

Inspector General Police, Commissioner Lahore Division, RPO Sheikhupura, DPO Kasur and other administrative and police officials were also present on the occasion.

Later, Shahbaz Sharif also went to the residence of PML-N MNA Malik Rasheed Ahmed at Fatehpur (Kasur) and expressed condolence over the death of his brother. He also offered fateha for the departed soul.
