Lahore: Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab on Health, Kh. Salman Rafiq presided over a meeting of the steering committee regarding establishment of Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI) Lahore today.
Secretary Health Jawad Rafiq Malik, Chairman PKLI Trust Dr. Saeed Akhtar, Dr. Iftikhar ur Hassan Sheikh, Additional Secretary Chief Minister Secretariat Muhammad Ahsan Waheed, XEN DHA LESCO M. Asghar, GM Sui Northern Gas Mehmood Zia, Member P&D Ejaz Hussain, Aamir Shafique Commissioner Office, Chief Planning Officer Health Abdul Haq Bhatti and Additional Secretary Development Mehmood Hassan were also present on the occasion.
The meeting reviewed the progress on matters including electricity, sui gas and provision of water, construction of roads and plantation in green areas and setting up of site office for the project of the institute.
The meeting was informed that sampling work of underground water for boring of the tube-well has been completed while demand notices have been issued by LESCO for small connections of electricity. There is a need to complete technical recommendations for big connection at the earliest for the installation of transmission lines, establishment of grid station and laying pipe line of Sui gas.
Kh. Salman Rafiq said that all concerned departments should soon give a final shape to matters along with coordination for setting up of the state-of-the-art Kidney and Liver Institute in Lahore. He said that soon a meeting will be presided over by Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for expediting the steps for setting up of the institute which will be attended by the officers of concerned provincial and federal departments.
