Former governor meets businessmen and traders at his office

PTI Ch M Sarwar Pic 17-4-15Lahore: Former Governor of Punjab and Senior Member, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Ch Muhammad Sarwar said, “Economic prosperity of any country acts as a backbone for overall development of a nation. However Pakistan’s economy remains in the doldrums where severe clinical and structural challenges continue to haunt its foundation. In addition to this, entrepreneurs continue to suffer at the hands of corrupt Pakistani oligarchs who have further aggravated the business community through the implementation of futile energy & business policies.”

Mr. Sarwar further added that keeping in light the current business situation of Pakistan, prominent businesses are subjected to inefficient energy policies where power outages are causing great hindrance to the production activities as well as negative tax policies.

Mr Sarwar met with key businessmen and traders at his office in Lahore. The business community, represented by Mian Kashif, Sohail Rana, Nasir Javed Chaudhry etc aired their concern on Government’s latest adhoc policy of shutting down businesses by8pm. All agreed that this policy will be unacceptable to the traders and businesses and Mr Sarwar said that “Our nation is in a grip of a serious economic challenge where outdated business and economic strategies constructed by policymakers are further adding to the crisis. Government should not target businesses for the failure of its energy policy.  No where do Governments hide their failures and target the businesses as businesses are the backbone of any country’s economy.  PTI will stand with the businesses and traders against such nonsensical Governmet policies.  The Government has failed to deliver on its promises on the energy side and has failed to provide an effective plan to reform the business sector of Pakistan. Unstable political system and dictatorship in its worst form have badly affected the nation’s integrity. We need to understand that the socio-economic problems affecting our country are deep-rooted issues which can only be stopped by eradicating all negative elements from its origin.”
