PEF is best example of public private partnership in education: Dr. Aneela Salman

MD PeefLahore: The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has designed and implemented best educational models in partnership with the private sector to promote gratis education in the indigent strata. These models have also helped to promote education in remote and less-developed areas where no other schooling facility is available.

This was stated by Managing Director Punjab Education Foundation Dr Aneela Salman while addressing the annual prize distribution ceremony at a PEF partner school in Choa Saiden Shah today.

She told that PEF partnership has resulted in providing numerous socio-economic benefits to the local communities at the grassroots. This has helped in increasing girls-education as well as motivating the parents to send their children to PEF partner schools where educational expenses are borne out by the foundation.

PEF has played leading role in achieving the goals of chief minister’s roadmap program and now this foundation will proactively work to make ‘parho punjab barho punjab’ a real success. “We have targeted to educate 2.8 million deserving students by 2018. For this purpose, expansion phases of different free education programs are announced every year so that more deserving children could access to this free education models.”

While giving a detail of different PEF sponsored interventions, she told that interactive classroom technology has been introduced in selected 25 partner schools in Chakwal, Lahore and Multan. Similarly, we have also introduced pilot project of evening education especially for house-maids and child-laborers in Lahore and Multan through our education voucher scheme and five thousand students are enrolled in PEF sponsored education centers. This shows tremendous success of this project, she added.

MD PEF Dr. Aneela Salman impressed upon the teachers to inculcate the fine qualities of self-confidence, courage and truthfulness in their students as Pakistan needs visionary and dedicated youth-leaders in every field who could work with immaculate passion and commitment. She asked the students to work hard in their studies and excel through dedication and zeal in their respective fields.

The function was also addressed by school principal and administrator who gave details of educational progress made in partnership with the foundation. A beautiful tableau show enthralled the audience comprising of students, teachers and parents. Later, MD PEF gave away prizes to the winning students.
