Lahore: Principal PGMI and Amir-ud-Din Medical College, Prof. Anjum Habib Vohra has said that Punjab government is taking all out steps for the provision of healthcare facilities to the citizens. He said that Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif besides increasing the number of beds in Lahore General Hospital, has also accorded approval to 199 new vacancies against which employees of grade 1 to 18 will be recruited and more than six crore rupees will be spent annually on their salaries and other incentives. He said that positive changes will occur in the performance of LGH through new recruitments.
He expressed these views while talking to media-men today. Prof. Anjum Habib Vohra said that first time in the history of the country, Lahore General Hospital is being contacted from abroad for the surgery of Parkinson patients which shows that Pakistani medical experts are determined to prove the metal of their professional capabilities throughout the world under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab which is a good omen. He said that time is not far when Pakistanis will be quoted for their authentic medical research in comity of nations. He said that health experts of PGMI and LGH will pay more focus to research in coming days. Latest machinery and medical gadgets will be installed in LGH before the end of current financial year, he added.
