Lahore : Member National Assembly and Chairman Emergency Response Committee Shalimar Town, Pervaiz Malik presided over a meeting regarding dengue elimination in the town.
The meeting decided that officers and officials of government departments situated in the town should ensure eradication of dengue larva at stores, roofs, bathrooms and near water coolers in their offices. He said that a warning of one week should be issued to all public and private educational institutions of the town to submit a report of giving a final shape to the arrangements and steps against dengue. He said that strict action will be taken against school owners in case of larva is detected.
He directed that dengue should be eradicated before its breeding and it is necessary that people should cooperate with dengue eradication teams. He said that during special surveillance, seven graveyards, 92 junkyards, 83 tyre workshops and seven nurseries were checked during last week.
Pervaiz Malik said that no leniency should be showed to public and private educational institutions or shopkeepers not cooperating in anti-dengue campaign. MPA Ch. Shahbaz, Bao Akhter, Malik Waheed, AC Shalimar Town Arshad Bhatti, TMO Malik Tariq and heads of Health, Education, Environment and other concerned departments were present on the occasion.
