Lahore: Second batch of public prosecutors completed their 12 week Counter Terrorism Training course here in MPDD today. 12 prosecutors from KPK, 10 from Punjab and 2 from Sindh participated in the second National Counter-Terrorism training course. Course was organized by Punjab Public Prosecution Department in collaboration with the British High Commission. Experienced prosecutor trainers from UK and Pakistan imparted training to the prosecutors from all over the country.
On completion of successful training a convocation ceremony was arranged here in the academy. Secretary Prosecution Syed Ali Murtaza, Prosecutors from UK, Mark Caral, Dr. Darren Dunn, Counter terrorism consultant British High commission Dr. Manzar Zaidi, DD from KPK Zafar Abbas Mirza, Consultant Shafqat Jillani and Additional Prosecutor General Amjad Rafiq participated in the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Mark Caral said that these brave prosecutors will ensure the continuation of the fight against terrorism and the upholding of rule of law. He said that it’s a great honor to be here in the closing ceremony of 3 month counter terrorism awareness course on the 800thanniversary of the signing of Magna Carta.
Secretary Prosecutor said that Punjab government is taking effective measures to provide prosecutors with modern training for dispersion of timely and effective justice. He said that first of its kind Prosecution Training Academy is established in Lahore which is providing the prosecutors with excellent learning opportunities.
Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab Rana Maqbool Ahmad, in his message to the successful prosecutors, has said that their duty is not less than that of Jihad and standing against terrorists is job of the Brave Men. He said that Terrorists will not find any place to hide and Punjab Government will not leave any stone un-turn in eradicating terrorism from the motherland. He instructed the prosecutors to work with the devotion to serve the oppressed.
