Lahore: Former Governor of Punjab and Senior President Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, Muhammad Sarwar stated, “ Pakistan is in the grip of an alarming energy crisis that is impacting various segments of society. Rapid growth in population has triggered an increase in the consumption of electricity. Energy policies requiring proper legislation and constructive guidelines for energy conservation are inadequate. Lawmakers have brushed off this issue of energy crisis at the expense of the many households without electricity.” He further added that the poor are being deprived of even the basic necessities due to increasing inflation.

While talking to various delegates in Scotland, the Former Governor stated that it is very unfortunate that parties sitting in opposition preach continuously about upholding democracy and the rule of law however once they come into power, their promises and commitments are rarely implemented. “Policy makers should adopt a serious role in handling the issue of energy crisis and inflation. High prices, load shedding and corruption are all negative elements of society which should be totally eradicated. I strongly believe that PTI will play a vital role in uplifting Pakistan from this quagmire.”
