Addressing a big public meeting at Mandi Bahaud Din, on Monday, he said that Saudi Arabia housed the Qibla e Awwal of the Muslims and was therefore, the spiritual centre and guide for the Ummah. Every Muslim was ready to lay down his life for the sanctity of the Haramain Sharifain and the sacred land and the Muslim world was worried about the security of the sacred country.

He said that the leaders of Turkey and Pakistan were prudent men and if they sat together, they could search a way out through talks.

Senator Sirajul Haq said there were attempts to make the on-going operation against criminal in Karachi controversial. He said that restoration of peace in the port city and elimination of crime from there was a milestone for national development. He said the operation should aim at ending crime from the city. He also stressed upon the MQM to disband its armed wing and hand over its workers involved in target killings, extortion and the practice of stuffing the dead bodies of innocent people in gunny bags. He said that the Karachi operation should not have political objectives, but should aim at wiping out crime and terrorism from the city.  He also urged the government to announce a special grant of Rs. 500 billion for the rehabilitation of basic infrastructure in the strife torn city Karachi and the provision of drinking water, transport and electricity to the citizens.

Sirajul Haq said that the Khyebr P. government had announced holding of Local government  elections on May 30. He also urged the governments of the Punjab and Sindh to announce their dates in this respect.

The JI chief deplored the police torture on the Kisans in the Punjab capital and requested the  Khadame Punjab to  attend to the problems of the farming community on priority basis.
