Pakistan-China Institute signs MOU with China World Peace Foundation

Pakistan-China Institute signs MOU with China World Peace Foundation_March29-2015Lahore: The Pakistan-China Institute, under the chairmanship of Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, has signed an MOU with a visiting delegation from the China World Peace Foundation, a prominent Chinese NGO, led by its Chairman, Dr Li Ruo Hong. The MOU seeks to promote cooperation on such areas as culture, environment and regional connectivity.

Latter, Senator Mushahid Hussain, during a briefing for Chinese media, has welcomed the proposal of President Xi Jinping for holding a conference for dialogue among Asian Civilisations for promoting dialogue amongst communities, youth, media and think tanks.

“The visit of President Xi Jinping would be a game-changer for Pakistan-China relations as it would give a concrete shape to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor with implementation of projects in energy, economy and infrastructure,” said Senator Mushahid, while answering a number of questions from the journalists.

Senator Mushahid also told the Chinese journalists that today ‘our relations with China are a factor for strengthening the federation and national unity, since there is a broad across-the-board consensus on this special relationship among all segments of Pakistani society’ and these ties are seen as a source of strength for Pakistan’s security and stability plus prosperity for all the provinces.

The Chinese President’s proposal came during his speech to the Baoa Forum yesterday. In his speech, President Xi Jinping also referred to the Indus Valley Civilisation as among the key Asian Civilisations, which Senator Mushahid told the Chinese journalists was a reference to present-day Pakistan, along with other Asian civilisations along the Yellow River, the Ganges and the Euphrates.
