Hameeda Waheed inaugurates a daycare center at Government Degree College for Women

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Women Development, Hameeda Waheed ud Din has said that women are playing an active role in the development of the country. She said that according to the vision of Chief Minister, Punjab government is taking practical steps for the welfare of women.

She expressed these views while addressing on the occasion of a daycare center under the aegis of Provincial Women Development Department at Government Degree College for Women Bilal Ganj, here today. Principal of the college Dr. Naima Khursheed, Director Women Department Sajid Tirmizi and teachers were also present on the occasion.

Hameeda Waheed ud Din said that government has taken various practical steps for the welfare of women after the establishment of Women Development Department and Women Package 2012 has been completely implemented while work is continuing on Women Package 2014. She said that government is setting up working women hostels and day care centers in different institutions for working women which is a good omen.

Moreover, further amendment is being made in Harassment Act for ensuring protection to working women, she added. Later, the Minister inaugurated first daycare center setup for the children of teachers and staff of the college. She visited different parts of daycare center and appreciated the facilities provided to the children.
