Lahore: A Flag raising ceremony was held at the Pakistan High Commission, Kuala Lumpur today to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Pakistan Resolution. The event was attended by a large number of Pakistanis living in Malaysia. The High Commissioner of Pakistan to Malaysia, H.E. Syed Hassan Raza hoisted the Pakistani flag.
The messages of the President and the Prime Minister were read on the occasion. President Mamnoon Hussain in his message, urged Pakistanis to renew their resolve to bring Pakistan to the forefront of the comity of nations. He said that Pakistan was confronted with formidable threats and challenges which requires commitment from its citizens to forget their differences and unite against evil forces.
In his message, the Prime Minister of Pakistan Mohammad Nawaz Sharif reiterated government’s resolve to preserve great cultural heritage and national identity and to make earnest efforts for bringing about economic and social revival in Pakistan.
In his address, the High Commissioner highlighted the efforts of the present government to overcome various challenges faced by the country including the energy crisis, poverty and terrorism. He also underlined the efforts of the government to bring peace and stability in the country. The High Commissioner appreciated the role of Armed Forces of Pakistan for the operation Zarb-e-Azb to eliminate terrorist extremists from Pakistan.
Referring to the problems of Pakistani citizens living in Malaysia, the High Commissioner assured that consular assistance and services will be provided to all Pakistanis without discrimination and in transparent manner. He also thanked the Malaysian leadership and the government of Malaysia for assistance and cooperation in solving the problems of Pakistanis in Malaysia.
