Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has appreciated the performance of Inspector General Police, DIG Operations and concerned police party on immediate recovery of a 3-year-old girl Laiba abducted from Gulberg and announced cash prizes for the police party.
During meeting with the girl and her parents, the Chief Minister said that police party has displayed a spirit of dutifulness by recovering the girl through timely action. He said that the performance of police with regard to safe recovery of the child is commendable.
Shahbaz Sharif announced commendatory certificates for DSP and SHO Gulberg while cash prize of Rs. 50 thousand for ASI Police Station Factory Area and Rs. 25 thousand each for the constables. He also congratulated the father of the child Waseem and mother of the child on the safe recovery of their daughter. Father of the girl Waseem, talking on the occasion said that police extended fullest cooperation with regard to recovery of the child. He said that he is thankful to Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.
Spokesman Punjab government Zaeem Hussain Qadri, Inspector General Police, Secretary Information, DIG Operations, DSP Gulberg Nasir Mehmood, Inspector Gulberg Zulfiqar Ali, ASI Shahbaz Ahmed, Head Constable Muhammad Imran, Constable Muhammad Kazam and Azhar Ali were also present on the occasion. It may be mentioned that Laiba was kidnapped from National Park Gulberg last night and recovered during checking of a rickshaw at a picket in the area of Police Station Factory Area. The accused involved in kidnapping of the child has been arrested.
