Handing over Command SwordLahore: Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman took over the command of Pakistan Air Force from Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt, in a graceful Change of Command Ceremony held at Air Headquarters, Islamabad.
Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman was designated as new Chief of the Air Staff by the President of Pakistan on 18th March, 2015. The Air Chief further said, “With the beginning of production of JF-17 Block-II aircraft, the programme is well on its way with minor variations and aircraft has already been inducted in Combat Commander School to fully realize its potential as a modern platform. Govt’s consent is on its way to initiate process of configuration negotiations for JF-17 Block-III aircraft as well”. He further added, “The harmony and synergy amongst the three services as well as the understanding of each other’s problems is better than ever before. The jointness exhibited during relief and rescue operations or the on-going Zarb-e-Azb certainly augurs well for making the defence of our homeland impregnable.”
