PCOs are being set up in the jails for providing telephone facility to the prisoners

Lahore: PCOs are being set up in the jails of the province for providing telephone facility to the prisoners for making calls to their relatives and in the first phase, PCOs have been installed in ten jails.

This was disclosed by DIG Headquarters & Secretary Finance, Punjab Prisons Foundation. He told that modern equipments have been installed in PCOs. He said that after entering complete bio-data of all prisoners, a security code is given to them, through which they are provided facility of making calls. He further told that the inmates will be provided the facility of telephone for 20 minutes in a week during which they will make calls on five specified numbers for talking to their parents, wife and children. All their talks will be recorded. He said that after its success, similar PCOs will be set up in remaining 27 jails of the province.
